Vision Board for 2019!

2018 is done and I for one am ready for the good times in 2019!

So much so that I created a few things to share with ya’ll 🙂

First up is my super awesome vision board! This was so much fun to do that I’m thinking of making it a new tradition for NYE. This chick has many, many, MANY goals for next year, so this was a little challenging to narrow down to just a few to share.

How did I do it? Well, with the help of Canva and Unsplash of course 🙂

Okay! Now let’s discuss.

First up are the academics. I soooooo need to complete my BA in 2019.

Not just so I can stay in South Korea longer if I want to, but having that done will no longer be looming over my head. Yes, it will cost me a grip to finish but surprisingly, once I have it, ya girl is looking at MAJOR career possibilities now that I’m overseas.

And speaking of being overseas, I want to travel more. With my contract, it may be a little difficult, but I can at least get to know my city and those within a 3 hour bus ride radius, right?

All future travels are for sure solo!

After more failed attempts to meet folks in Seoul, I am just done with group meetups.

I think about the money I’ve spent trying to make those trips happen and …

Yeah. Something like that.

So, no more working on multiple folks time slots, available dates, and interests.

Just my own. YAAAAAAASSSSSSSS!

In between my future travel plans, taking online classes, and working my pretty awesome job, I want to take the KIIP (Korean Immigration and Integration Placement) exam. You know, just in case I finish my BA by next February and want to see what other amazing careers await me in South Korea.

That and the fact that I really, really, REALLY want to improve my listening and speaking in Korean skills. Right now I have plans to register for the exam on January 2nd for the beginning of April. There are 5 levels and I would like to place in level 3.

You all will for sure hear more about that journey on my YouTube channel.

Which brings me to my next goal – growing my channel! I honestly did not think it would be possible, but over the last few weeks I’ve been gaining a healthy number of subscribers and want to keep the momentum going all through out the next year.

I also plan on bringing back the ‘Soprano’ in Soprano Musings.  Sigh.

I miss singing ya’ll. So much so that with my hectic schedule, I plan to make time to practice my old voice lessons and sharing the re-glowup journey with you all.

Yeah, I know it is a lot. But I also know that I’m worth it.

Wishfully Waiting

First, allow me to properly thank Dan Aragón for making this photo available for free on @unsplash. It captures my current mood so well as I listen to LoFi Hip Hop radio via Youtube at the moment.

Now I can begin my update from my post last month.

My documents for the teaching internship program that I applied for were, in fact, received by the GA consulate. All is not lost but instead completed. At least on my end 🙂

I have completed my initial and final interviews for the internship, and am now waiting to hear back from the head office overseas in regards to whether or not I was accepted. On or before June 1st I should know the outcome. How am I keeping myself busy until then?

  • Catching up on my blogs.
  • Working as many hours as I can at both of my jobs.
  • Spending time with my friends.
  • Going to the beach.
  • Creating a new vlog playlist on my YouTube channel.

The light at the end of the tunnel can almost be seen! I just hope it leads me to the sunny, magical, and beautiful side where my hopes and dreams can take flight.

As always, be inspired and stay inspiring musings!

3 out of 4

No, I am not taking another hiatus 🙂

Over the last few weeks I have learned – finally – to not rush.

When I started sharing my feelings, thoughts, and works onto social media, I felt this crazy pressure to constantly put stuff out every week. I was reading blog after blog on how to produce ‘quality content’ to gain more readers and followers.

It was getting to the point to where I was stressing myself out about not having anything new and ‘thought provoking’ to post. I had almost decided to just stop all together and to remove myself from all social medias.

Until I remembered why I started doing it in the first place.

Exactly why was I even trying to keep up with all these other media mavens and blogger beasts? The truth is that found myself being visited by an old friend – Envy. I wanted to have their following of ‘fans’. To know that my work was being viewed and was well received.

But that is not why I stated this journey ya’ll.

Yeah, I would like more positive interactions with those who stop by my page or my YouTube channel. That does not mean that I need more followers. I can image that those with thousands of followers don’t even hear from or engage with a large portion of them anyways.

So, my schedule of when I will share content has changed.

I will be posting here (and on all my other sites) 2 to 3 times a month (with the exceptions being Blogging University and YouTube, because the classes that I am taking on coursera and Blogging U may call for weekly video and written responses).

This is because I want to present those that do visit the site and engage with me, I want to give them the best content possible. So I am taking my time – really learning how to produce my music, make better videos, and keep improving on my writing style. I still have plenty of projects in the works, and I haven’t forgotten about Shinee Sessions (or about learning how to create a page and add eBooks-lol).

Thank ya’ll so much for understanding. I hope that this helps someone else going through something similar to remember why they started their (social media) journey and helps ground them if needed to keep at it.

As yourself – not those that you see around you.

Stay inspiring and be inspired!

Take care.
