For Emily. You are not Alone.

I am sure that the majority of ya’ll have heard about the Stanford rapist and his sentencing.

Sentencing in this case is the loosest term possible.

My feelings regarding this matter are still raw, but I felt the need to do something when I heard this news. Anything to show my stance on this subject matter and to let the Brocks in this world know that we will not keep silent. To make sure that they know that this is not okay.

And to let the Emily Doe’s know that we will stand with them.

This is the letter that she read in court to her attacker. This is also the first time that I have read the letter period. I applaud her courage for being able to do this and I hope that she is able to find some peace in having said all of this out loud.
