BABEFEST 2016!

I have been a bit absent from posting these past few weeks. Mostly due to the semester ending – don’t know why this one was so hard, but it was.

But one other really good reason that I have been away is due to this AWESOME event that I am happy to be apart of πŸ™‚

It is called Babefest, where the local female musicians and their bands take the stage to perform. Love Your Rebellion teamed up with Nice Guys PizzaΒ to host this event, and I can not wait for it to finally be here!

To prepare and spread the word about Babesfest and what it means to us, us ladies at LYR had a photo shoot where we tried to capture the essence of the women in music that have and continue to inspire us.

I chose Brittany Howard from the Alabama Shakes πŸ™‚

You can read about why I chose her here, and if you are local I hope you can make it out to this event!

Seeing one 'acceptable' troupe for fat black women like me was more than enough to entice me to step up and take a shot! ______________________________________________________________________________________________ After spending hours on stock pile sites and not finding the images of women that she wanted to see on her blog or book covers led K. McCoy to make more of her photography hobby. Besides shooting portraits, street and travel photography, K. McCoy would love to tap more into her creative skills and collaborate with cosplay artists as well as authors looking for their dream book covers.
